At any level of writing, the best paper is never one that simply finds out everything that can be discovered about the subject and reports all discovery without any awareness of distinction or significant meaning. Research should be organized into POINTS, points into CATEGORIES, categories into BROAD TOPICS, and topics into a unified piece of writing. If you find that you are repeating or copying something from your notes without evaluating the significance, or you include whole batches of factual information simply because you happened to stumble upon it during your research, then you have neither really mastered the material nor sufficiently thought through your research/notes. You need further organization and shifting through your research materials.
