Die Fahne Hoch (The Horst Wessel Lied)

The Horst-Wessel Lied, named for a party member killed by a member of the KDP (Communist Party of Germany) in 1930, became the anthem of the NSDAP.

English Translation:

The flag raised, ranks tightly closed! The SA marches with steady step. Comrades shot by the Red Front and reactionaries march in spirit with us.

Clear the street for the brown battalions. Clear the streets for the stormtrooper! Millions look upon the swastika with hope. The day of freedom and bread dawns!

For the last time, the call to arms sounds. For the fight, we are prepared! Soon Hitler’s banners will fly over all streets. The time of bondage will be over soon.

The flag raised, and ranks tightly closed. The SA march with steady step. Comrades shot by the Red Front and reactionaries march in spirit with us.
