You must begin, of course, by creating a fictional character, in our case, one that fits into a fictional family. Three variables loom here, viz. Where, When and Who. So before you begin a story line, you must decide upon a ‘character profile’ and a ‘point-of-view narrative’ (essentially a brief narrative from the character’s perspective).
To complete a POV Narrative, imagine the historical world your character inhabits: Who are his or her parents? Where do they live? What do the family do to survive on a daily basis?
Here are questions you need to answer:
- Name, sex, and age at the beginning of your specific narrative
- Ethnicity
- Educational and economic background
- Occupation
- Description of parents
- Description of upbringing/childhood
- Main relationships
- Type and intensity of religion
- Driving motivation or goals
1] Now write 5-10 lines of narrative that tells a story about your character.
2] Divide a piece of paper into six panels. Using different points-of-view for each panel, sketch six thumbnail scenes.
3] Transfer six sentences of narration onto the six panels, add dialogue as you wish.
